People ask me all the time, what I do here at the rescue? So today I want to let everyone know exactly what happens on a day to day basis here. At 6 in the morning I usually start my day with a cup of coffee, after that we clean all the litter boxes, mix the cat food for the feral cats and also the cats at the rescue, and feed all the animals. We clean all the water bowls and get them freah water. Make sure all of the bowls are filled with dry cat and dog food. Now it is time for medicine, if there are any sick cats and dogs this is when they get their meds. After that, it is time to walk the dogs. We walk them 30 to 45 minutes in the morning.
I usually try to grab a quick bite to eat, and then it is off to get the cleaning done. We sweep, mop, do laundry, and clean up any messes the pets have made.
By the time the morning chores are done, it is time to start all over again. I will sit down for a few minutes to check my messages on line and ty to eat lunch. Sometimes this does not work out quite the way I want it to. Most of the time there is some type of emergency situation that has to be taken care of.
Afternoon and Evening: Litter boxes get cleaned again, feral cats get their evening meal, the dogs get food and new water, the dogs get their evening walk, this takes longer at night because we have to walk more of them in the evening when it is cooler.
By this time it is close to 9 pm and I need to take a break and get something for supper (usually take out). I check e-mails again, give the night time medicine.
Okay, a little me time! LOL! 1 in the morning, I think its time to get some sleep.
